Healthcare clinics

A waiting room does not pause because the system is down

Clinics run to a schedule with patients physically present. When records are unreachable, the day does not slow down gracefully. It backs up immediately and visibly.

What actually happened

One account without MFA took down claims processing nationwide

In February 2024 attackers reached Change Healthcare through a remote access portal using stolen credentials on an account that did not have multi factor authentication enabled. The resulting ransomware attack halted billing and claims processing for a large share of US pharmacies and hospitals for weeks, and exposed the health information of roughly 190 million people.

What it means for you

One account without a second factor was the entry point. That control is neither expensive nor complicated.

What we hear

The pressure points in healthcare clinics

Patient records must be reachable

Clinicians need the chart now, with the patient in the room.

Privacy obligations

Real regulatory duties around patient information, with real consequences.

Remote access to clinical systems

After hours and multi site access that is convenient and, done badly, is also the way in.

Shared workstations

Exam room computers used by many staff, where fast sign in and privacy pull against each other.

What we put in place

Built for how you actually operate

Not a generic support plan with your industry written on the cover. These are the things that matter in your environment.

Multi factor authentication everywhere

Starting with remote access and administrative accounts, which is exactly where these incidents begin.

Access based on role

Staff reach the patient information their role requires, with a record of who accessed what.

Recovery built for clinical systems

Immutable offline backups and a tested path back, planned around how long a clinic can actually run without records.

Reliable exam room devices

Workstations and peripherals that work every time, with quick sign in that does not leave records on screen.

Secure remote and multi site access

Properly controlled access for after hours work and additional locations.

Vendor coordination

We deal with your practice management and imaging vendors, so your staff are not stuck between suppliers.

What changes

What it looks like once this is running

We start by reviewing what you have now and telling you honestly what would cause problems. No obligation, and no pressure either way.
